Okay, the Momcat has FINALLY gotten off her fat, lazy butt and done some much-needed work on some of the rules for our spot. When the spot first got started, it was fairly small and having wiggle-room wasn't such a problem; so my first batch of rules weren't all that specific. But our CAT has had many, many new kittens since then, and consequently, things have gotten crazier and messier. I dislike the books, but after seeing image after image labeled "Twilight sucks", as well as comment after comment with the words, I'm beginning to see why we can be accused of being "haters."

"Sucks" is not a swear word. To say something sucks is not going to send you to hell. But it is derogatory, and immature, and does not lead to any real discussion. As someone who liked vampires before the fad started I'm one of the many people who dislikes the Twilight vampires. And thinks they should be reclassified as pixies. What I Don't Really Like About Bella Swan

I used to be a die-hard Twilight fan. (see my username. Damn I wish I'd chosen ANYTHING else sometimes.)

I still like the book in small doses now, and I even write fanfiction for it, but now I've looked critically at SMeyer's characters, and I think I realize what people are talking about when they say Bella Swan is a Mary Sue.

As a person who has seen it from both sides, I'd like to say that maybe Twilight fans didn't see Bella like that to begin with because she has so many "flaws".

I'm not really a mega-supporter of Bella's neediness. And I even, admittedly, wonder why she took Edward back after New Moon. Normal people with lives and better things to do would say, "Hell no am I taking you back. You left me crying in a forest, and you think I'll just come running back to you? You wanna commit suicide, go right ahead while I get the popcorn."

I still like Twilight. But maybe Bella Swan was kind of 2-Dimensional.

I have read all books and seen the movies.
Most importantly, the fact that it’s fantasy doesn’t excuse the themes and messages in the book. Fiction is merely a vehicle humans developed to communicate important lessons, values and philosophies. I am not claiming any of the implications I discuss were intentional on SMeyer’s part. Whether or not the author or readers are aware of it, though, the Twilight series communicates dangerous messages about what is acceptable or admirable or desirable.
Also, I highly recommend link. It’s long, but fascinating and deeper than the books themselves....

I came across the site 'My life is average' (link) where people send in random quotes such as 'Today, my friend and I bought cake mix at the store. The cashier jokingly told us to bring him back some cake. We did. MLIA."
I curiously searched Edward Cullen and some pretty much hilarious results came up!

Well i read twilight saga and i got confused I was thinking of either smashing my head with the book or the wall i mean come on who the f*** makes vampires sparkle! i mean unless you want to give the image that there gay but there daring the oppisite sex.

Moving on anyway i have to compare Harry Potter Series vs. Twilight Saga Harry potter wins major. becuase twilight is just SO predictiable i mean common harry potter makes you want to stay at the end of your chair becuase its awesome
